in body and soul
Artistic research / Editorial design / Photography

In Body and Soul is an artistic research project that looks back at my practice developed throughout my Fine Arts degree, tracing the body as the recurring thread running through it. Rather than approaching the body solely as a subject of representation, the project understands it as medium, territory and language: my own body and those of others become sites through which vulnerability, identity, memory, politics, absence and transformation can be explored.
Structured as a conceptual cartography, the project brings together earlier and recent works, theoretical references and new writing to uncover connections that had emerged intuitively throughout my practice. The body moves across five interconnected territories, border, sensitivity, performativity, politics and ritual, allowing works from different moments to encounter one another beyond chronology or medium. In this sense, the project became both an analysis of my previous work and a new work in itself: a body of text constructed through images, fragments, gestures and ideas.
Completed as my Final Degree Project in Fine Arts at the University of Seville, the project was awarded the highest academic distinction (Matrícula de Honor), recognising both its artistic development and research.
