La chaise
CREATIVE HOUSE / WORKSHOPS / GATHERINGS
By Lucía Harrison & Paula Palacios
CONTEXT
Borned in 2026, La Chaise is a creative workshop project based in Verbier, Switzerland, co-founded with Lucía Harrison, with the aim of bringing people together through hands-on making. Hosted mainly at Natural Law, the project offers accessible workshops around craft, art and design, creating a space to slow down, learn new skills and connect with others.
MY ROLE
As co-founder, I develop the creative and educational direction of La Chaise.
My role includes designing workshop concepts and learning materials, leading sessions, coordinating logistics and events, and developing the project’s visual identity, communication and content.
AUDIENCE
La Chaise is open to adults of all backgrounds and experience levels, bringing together both locals and Verbier’s international community. The workshops are designed to make creative practices accessible, encouraging experimentation, curiosity and the confidence to explore traditional and contemporary techniques.
STEP 01 - RESEARCH & CONCEPT
Each workshop begins with research into a technique, its history and contemporary relevance. We explore materials, processes and references to develop a concept that is accessible, engaging and connected to La Chaise’s values.
STEP 02 — TEST & DESIGN
The workshop is developed through material tests and hands-on experimentation. Techniques are simplified and adapted to different experience levels, while the format, timing, materials and possible outcomes are carefully defined.
STEP 03 — PREPARE & COMMUNICATE
Once the workshop is established, I develop the educational and visual materials, prepare tools and resources, coordinate logistics and create the communication needed to introduce the workshop clearly to participants.
STEP 04 — FACILITATE & SHARE
During the workshop, participants are guided step by step while maintaining space for individual experimentation. The session combines technical learning, creative autonomy and exchange, turning the workshop into both a learning experience and a shared social moment.
